Fresh Drumsticks (Moringa)

How to Use

Wash the drumsticks thoroughly under running water and trim both ends. Cut them into approximately 5–8 cm pieces before cooking.

Add the pieces directly to sambar, dal, curries, soups or vegetable stews and cook until tender. The soft inner pulp is typically eaten, while the tough fibrous outer skin is generally not consumed. When eating cooked drumsticks, the soft pulp can be scraped or sucked from inside the pod.

Storage Information

For best freshness, store drumsticks in the refrigerator. Keep them dry and place them in a vegetable bag, perforated bag or suitable container in the vegetable compartment.

Avoid washing them before storage, as excess moisture can encourage faster deterioration. Wash thoroughly just before use.

For longer storage, drumsticks can be washed, dried, cut into portions and frozen in an airtight freezer-safe bag or container. Texture may change after freezing, but they remain suitable for cooked dishes such as sambar and curries.
